COUNTRY MUSHROOMS

Country Mushrooms is the largest single mushroom farm in Africa producing 100 tons of mushrooms per week. The farm was established in 1986 and the most recent growing rooms were completed in 2023. The existing 900 kWp solar system provides up to 90% of the load during solar generation hours and phase 2 of the energy solution, which will consist of an additional solar PV and a Battery Energy Storage System, will aim to provide up to 75% of all energy requirements of the farm in addition to providing the farm with their requirement of energy security during periods of grid unavailability in order to ensure consistent growing conditions.

THE REEF

The Reef is a 15,627m² convenience retail centre located in Germiston, Gauteng. The centre is anchored by Checkers, Woolworths, Dischem and Food Lovers Market with the remainder of the tenant mix comprising majority national tenants. The centre was constructed in 2018 and the Grid-tied solar PV system was completed in March 2019. The 1.2mWp system provides up to 80% of the centre’s load during peak generation. Phase 2 of the energy solution has been approved which will consist of an additional 263kWp solar PV and a 2.2mWh Battery Energy Storage System which will provide power to the centre during instances of grid unavailability while also allowing for tariff arbitrage.

HERTFORD OFFICE PARK

Hertford Office Park comprises 10 office buildings and a Planet Fitness gym, situated in Waterfall, Gauteng. The existing buildings comprise 58,586m² with an additional 2 buildings under development, measuring 12,000m². The existing Solar PV comprises a 647kWp Grid-tied system with all available roof space being utilised. An additional 682kWp is under development and is being added as buildings are completed.

WATERFALL RIDGE RETAIL AND WATERFALL WALK

Waterfall Ridge Retail and Waterfall Walk are 2 convenience retail centres located in Waterfall, Gauteng. Waterfall Ridge Retail, measuring 13,211m², is anchored by a Food Lovers Market while Waterfall Walk, measuring 4,430m², is anchored by a Woolworths and Clicks. The Grid-Tied Solar PV systems comprise 909kWp at Ridge, commissioned February 2021, and 297kWp at Walk, commissioned March 2025. Phase 2 of the energy solution is under development which will include a 1.6mWh Battery Energy Storage System at Ridge and a 1.25mWh Battery Energy Storage System at Walk. The Battery Energy Storage System will provide power to the centres during instances of grid unavailability while also allowing for tariff arbitrage.
